SoGEA

SoGEA stands for Single Order Generic Ethernet Access. Now you only need to place one order for your broadband data service. Traditional phone line installation is not needed with SoGEA, so costs fall. SoGEA delivers the same performance and data rates as FTTC broadband. It uses the same infrastructure and has the same geographic availability, futureproofing connectivity as the UK moves to an all-IP network.

Important note: You will need a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) voice product or a hosted telephony platform if you want to continue to make and receive voice calls and use your existing telephone number. It is essential that the porting of any existing phone numbers is completed before the service is switched to SoGEA, or numbers can be irretrievably lost

FTTP

It is a pure fibre connection from the exchange into your business so, unlike FTTC where broadband is delivered via fibre optic cables only as far as the cabinet, FTTP uses cable across the entire distance to your business, resulting in the ability to deliver broadband speeds far higher and more reliably than a typical FTTC connection. With FTTP, your business can work to its fullest potential, even at the busiest times. Once installed, FTTP is far more stable than alternatives and delivers committed speeds irrespective of the cable run distance. With FTTP there is no “up to” bandwidth. The bandwidth that you buy is the bandwidth that you will obtain over your local access tail. Another advantage of a full fibre connection is there’s no longer any need for an old-fashioned phone line, the copper connection is totally unnecessary, so you don’t need to pay any line rental.

Ethernet

Ideal for businesses that require the fastest synchronous speeds to move vast amounts of data seamlessly and with minimal latency. Ethernet provides dedicated, uncontended bandwidth, ensuring consistently high performance even during peak times. It supports critical cloud-based services, real-time data applications, video streaming, large file transfers, and broadcasting with exceptional reliability. As a fully managed and enterprise-grade solution, it offers guaranteed service levels (SLAs), high availability, and robust security. Ethernet is also future-proofed, delivering the scalability to increase bandwidth easily as your business requirements evolve, making it a sound long-term investment for organisations focused on growth and operational resilience.

5G ODU

5G ODU (Outdoor Unit) can typically be deployed far quicker than FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) or Ethernet. Fibre services often require physical cabling, civil works, and coordination with multiple third parties, which can lead to long lead times — often several weeks or months. In contrast, a 5G ODU can be installed rapidly, sometimes within a few days, significantly accelerating time to service.

5G ODU solutions offer excellent flexibility, particularly for temporary locations, pop-up sites, remote areas, or anywhere that fixed-line infrastructure is impractical or cost-prohibitive. It’s ideal for businesses that require rapid scaling, relocation, or short-term deployments.

In summary, the 5G ODU solution dramatically shortens the rollout time from order to live service compared to FTTP and Ethernet, while offering flexibility, cost-efficiency, and high-speed connectivity without the physical and logistical challenges tied to traditional wired infrastructure.
